Ben Affleck is setting the record straight on his romantic status, revealing that dating is far from his main focus.
Speaking at a recent film premiere, the 54-year-old actor and filmmaker opened up about his current lifestyle, sharing that his time is completely taken up by his career and his children.
“I work a lot and I see my kids,” Affleck said. “There’s not a lot of room. I’m not running around… It’s just not a big priority in my life.”
Affleck also addressed wild internet gossip—including recent claims from television co-host Ana Navarro that she attempted to set him up with Shakira. The actor admitted he was completely blindsided by the rumor, saying, “I swear to God, I never heard that in my whole life. I often hear rumors, and I think it’s because… some people gossip. Stuff gets made up.”
Emphasizing that he is content flying solo, Affleck stressed that his kids and his passion for filmmaking take precedence over everything else.
“I’m good and I’m happy,” Affleck said. “I know what my priorities are. You can’t have two things that are the most important in your life. For me, that’s the kids. And then I have my work, which I love.”
While he isn’t actively looking for romance, the actor noted that he isn’t entirely closed off to the future either. “Who knows what adventures life will bring? I’m open to it, but I’m not trying to chase anything.”
