om Brady Blames Himself and Apologizes After Hilarious Technical Gaffe During Eagles vs. Rams Broadcast
The NFL legend faced an unexpected opponent in the broadcasting booth: his own heavy stack of research notes.
Tom Brady found himself offering an on-air apology during FOX Sports’ coverage of the Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Rams game after a self-inflicted technical mishap cut him off mid-broadcast.
Viewers noticed a sudden audio glitch when the seven-time Super Bowl champion abruptly went silent and lost contact with his fellow commentators. Play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt quickly stepped in to cover, telling the audience, “Sorry, Tom, little mic issue. We’ll get back to that and show your protection lesson in a moment.”
Once the connection was restored, Burkhardt playfully asked his partner to “fess up” about what went wrong. True to form, Brady took full accountability with a laugh, holding up his oversized board of notes to explain the culprit.
“Okay, my fault,” Brady confessed. “I have this big, clunky board, which I have all this information about what I want to say all day, and I dropped it on the talkback button.”
The accidental press muted his incoming audio, leaving the legendary quarterback wondering why he couldn’t hear his team. “I’m sitting here going, ‘God, I can’t hear anyone, you guys?’ and it’s my fault the whole time,” he quipped, comparing the hilarious booth blunder to a quarterback owning up to a misread defense.
